As leadership coaches we sometimes use the phrase of ‘Freeze Zone’.   It is the time when a leader freezes – they find it hard to do what is right, it may be when they get fearful, or are just unsure.  Knowing what your personal ‘freeze zone’ is will be the first step to adjusting your leadership actions.

So just when do you move into the ‘Freeze Zone’?

  1. Dealing with the bully
  2. Being intimidated by political position
  3. Confrontation
  4. Taking action without 100% of the details
  5. Being surprised by someone actions – taken off guard
  6. Dealing with gossip, or the lunch room quarterbacking
  7. Reinforcing core values of the company
  8. Being honest with lack of performance
  9. Speaking up
  10. Sharing your opinion
