Watching a leader, who masks all emotion, is painful. While the leader may view that they look calm and collected, as a leadership coach I can’t but help but see and watch their employees eyes and wonder what they are thinking. Does this leader have a heart, a soul, an ounce of compassion, humor…or energy? The stoic leader will let others define him/her. They may like the aloofness of the hard exterior, but will their employees be inspired by just the hard facts and numbers?
Finding ones elegant courage in leadership, is sometimes adjusting your approach to achieve your objective. So take the plunge, wear a bit of your soul and heart so that others see and feel what is important to you. |
