On vacation I met an older gentleman as he was watching the sunset. We had an interesting conversation from business, economy, to beautiful sunsets. He had time to talk, I had time to listen. His 89 years of history were interesting, and he still walked with a bit of energy. He validated something for me that I had been working on. A year ago I made a conscience choice to really find the happiness in one's soul. That feeling when you really laugh and find joy in each day. When you catch yourself with a true smile. The kind you can almost feel the sparkle in your eyes. I have to admit that I had lost that for a bit and knew I needed to find it, to make choices that encourage it…to take action to achieve it. My validation came from an 89-year-old who stopped by my beach chair and commented on what a beautiful smile I had…he said he was watching to see if he could catch me without it….that would be hard, as it’s now part of me again. |
