Why is changing a work culture so hard? Why is there so much resistance to making change for the better?
When you break down changing a work culture – think of employees reaction falling into one of the five categories:
1. no need to change 2. the timing is bad 3. cost of the change 4. they may need information on why, what and how 5. feel distrust of the new direction

About 10 years ago I remember hearing a story about keeping a grateful log. It wasn’t so much about writing it down – but taking the mental time to be grateful, to acknowledge what/who you’re grateful for. Whether it was an act of kindness; generosity; or it may have been someone who made you laugh, to someone who took the time to really listen.

1. Identify what you are fearful of – is it a reaction you may receive? Is it rejection? 2. Know the outcome you’re striving for. 3. Less is more….. keep what ever you’re facing simple – if it’s confronting – keep your communication short and clear.
