As leadership coaches we headed to  Madison, Wisconsin asking people what characteristics they looked for in leaders today.

The idea of stopping people on the street to ask their opinion was rather enjoyable.  Their answers were as different as their backgrounds and ages.   What struck us was their openness to answer the question, to share their opinion, and also the look of pleasure that their opinion was considered.  In the course of an hour, we had connected with over 15 people, and only two rebuffed our invitation to share their opinion.
