Sometimes we all need a mantra, a phrase we say to ourselves to regain calm, to get courage, to move ahead or to feel confident. Some athletes think, chant, and concentrate on a phrase to move forward when they have hit the wall. Work focus really isn’t any different. We all hit the wall at some time – what is important is what do you do when you hit the wall? Do you give up? Do you slow down? Do you lose your rhythm or your confidence? I find that key phrases, are my ‘self talk’ or at times a kick in the butt.

The next time you lose your focus, misplace your confidence, let fear set in, or if you’re tempted to wimp out – try a mantra…take action…and move forward
