I was driving home from the Twin Cities – and drove past a sign that was partially covered in the snow…what remained were the words….’Get Hope’. I smiled as I repeated the words…two words, yet so powerful.

Have you ever known people who really do demonstrate the ‘get hope’ mantra?

I was fortunate to be raised by practical, hardworking, conservative parents who grew up in the depression. While their early beginnings were not easy, they saw opportunity and a hopeful future. I was taught early in life, whiners didn’t get very far, and we were expected to find solutions to move forward. I didn’t know it at the time, but they were teaching us all about adjusting and adapting and creating a hopeful mindset.

Finding hope is indeed a choice, some people make it look easy – but what may lay in their foundation is they aren’t afraid. They aren’t paralyzed by fear, but rather continued their movement forward.

So for 2009….Get Hope.
