Courage isn’t always demonstrated in a ‘big event’. Think about the following events that required courage.
It takes courage to set a goal and go after it. The courage is the work, commitment, and fearlessness to consistently strive to achieve the new goal. It takes courage to see a possible objective and take action to achieve. It takes courage to follow the less traveled path that requires you to change a pattern of personal behavior. Think about the individual that decides they want to train for a race. It is the vision to decide upon the race goal, to dream of something different, the courage to share their dream with others, and the commitment to train to achieve. Imagine the courage of an individual who has never run a race, deciding and committing to the goal. It would be easy to quit. It takes a fearlessness in their commitment and courage to achieve.
As leadership coaches we see clients who are courageous in their journey. They identify that they want something different. We help them train to achieve their vision. They are courageous in their journey, they are fearless in working to stop avoiding and start taking action, to adjust a pattern of behavior that allows you to achieve a new result. They are courageous.
When was the last time you were truly courageous and faced your fears head on? |
